A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Ffmpeg and Libav 0.5.10/1.1 (Multimedia Processing Software). This issue affects the function ac3_decode_frame of the file libavcodec/ac3dec.c of the component Channel Mapper. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a denial of service vulnerability. Upgrading to version Libav 0.8.9 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at libav.org. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem.
