The bug was discovered 01/03/2018. The weakness was shared 01/03/2018 by lokihardt with Google Project Zero as confirmed security update guide (Website). The advisory is shared at portal.msrc.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2018-0774 since 12/01/2017. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. A remote code execution vulnerability exists in the way that the scripting engine handles objects in memory in Microsoft Edge. The vulnerability could corrupt memory in such a way that an attacker could execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user.
