Details
A vulnerability was found in Jenkins up to 1.37 (Continuous Integration Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component EC2 Agent. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Users with permission to create or configure agents in Jenkins 1.37 and earlier could configure an EC2 agent to run arbitrary shell commands on the master node whenever the agent was supposed to be launched. Configuration of these agents now requires the 'Run Scripts' permission typically only granted to administrators.
