The usermacros resource in Atlassian Confluence Server before version 6.3.4 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript via a cross site scripting (XSS) vulnerability through the description of a macro.
The bug was discovered 02/02/2018. The weakness was released 02/02/2018 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at jira.atlassian.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-18084 since 02/01/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is required for exploitation.
