Various resources in Atlassian Confluence Server before version 6.4.2 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript via a cross site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the issuesURL parameter.
The bug was discovered 02/02/2018. The weakness was presented 02/02/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-18086 since 02/01/2018. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
