The bug was discovered 10/17/2017. The weakness was released 02/07/2018 by Kushal Arvind Shah (xisigr) with Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-5124 since 01/02/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
