A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in FFmpeg 2.0.1 (Multimedia Processing Software). This affects the function ff_jpeg2000_init_component of the file libavcodec/jpeg2000.c. The impact remains unknown.
The weakness was shared 08/23/2013 by Laurent Butti as jpeg2000: fix dereferencing invalid pointers as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared at git.videolan.org. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely.
