A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Foo Labs Xpdf 4.00 (Document Reader Software). This vulnerability affects the function readCodestream. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-476. An issue was discovered in xpdf 4.00. A NULL pointer dereference in readCodestream allows an attacker to cause denial of service via a JPX image with zero components.

This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-7175 since 02/15/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
