CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in F5 BIG-IP up to 11.6.1/11.6.2/12.1.3.1/13.0.0 (Firewall Software). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is an unknown functionality of the component MCTCP. The manipulation as part of a TCP Connection leads to a resource consumption vulnerability (Memory). CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-400. The product does not properly control the allocation and maintenance of a limited resource, thereby enabling an actor to influence the amount of resources consumed, eventually leading to the exhaustion of available resources. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:

On F5 BIG-IP systems running 13.0.0, 12.1.0 - 12.1.3.1, or 11.6.1 - 11.6.2, every Multipath TCP (MCTCP) connection established leaks a small amount of memory. Virtual server using TCP profile with Multipath TCP (MCTCP) feature enabled will be affected by this issue.

The bug was discovered 02/28/2018. The weakness was disclosed 03/01/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at support.f5.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-5500 since 01/12/2018. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
