CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cryptographic issue vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-310. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, and integrity. The summary by CVE is:

Mozilla Firefox before 26.0, Firefox ESR 24.x before 24.2, Thunderbird before 24.2, and SeaMonkey before 2.23 do not recognize a user's removal of trust from an EV X.509 certificate, which makes it easier for man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers in opportunistic circumstances via a valid certificate that is unacceptable to the user.

The weakness was shared 09/17/2013 by Sijie Xia as MFSA2013-113 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at mozilla.org. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-6673 since 11/05/2013. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1600 for this issue.

After immediately, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is declared as proof-of-concept. We expect the 0-day to have been worth approximately $5k-$25k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 71365 (Fedora 19 : firefox-26.0-2.fc19 / xulrunner-26.0-1.fc19 (2013-23127)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Fedora Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 195893 (Ubuntu Security Notification for Firefox Vulnerabilities (USN-2052-1)).

Upgrading to version 26 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published 3 months after the disclosure of the vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (89599), Tenable (71365), SecurityFocus (BID 64213†), OSVDB (100806†) and Vulnerability Center (SBV-42587†). The entries VDB-11447, VDB-11451, VDB-11452 and VDB-11460 are related to this item. Several companies clearly confirm that VulDB is the primary source for best vulnerability data.
