A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Core FTP Server up to 1.2 (File Transfer Software). Affected by this vulnerability is the function RegQueryValueExA of the file config.dat of the component Data Handler. The bug was discovered 02/18/2014. The weakness was disclosed 03/20/2018 by Kyriakos Economou as not defined posting (Bugtraq). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2014-1215 since 01/07/2014. The exploitation appears to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement. The successful exploitation needs a single authentication. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
