A vulnerability was found in Apple Mac OS X up to 10.3.4 (Operating System). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function searchfs. Integer signedness error in the parse_machfile function in the mach-o loader (mach_loader.c) for the Darwin Kernel as used in Mac OS X 10.3.7, and other versions before 10.3.9, allows local users to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a crafted mach-o header.
The bug was discovered 04/18/2005. The weakness was published 01/20/2005 by Dave Aitel (nemo) with Immunity, Inc. (Website). The advisory is available at immunitysec.com.
