Dell EMC Isilon versions between 8.1.0.0 - 8.1.0.1, 8.0.1.0 - 8.0.1.2, and 8.0.0.0 - 8.0.0.6, and versions 7.2.1.x is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Authorization Providers page within the OneFS web administration interface. A malicious administrator may potentially inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript code in the user's browser session in the context of the OneFS website.

The bug was discovered 02/14/2018. The weakness was published 03/26/2018 by Core Security with Core Security Consulting Services as confirmed mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is available at seclists.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-1188 since 12/06/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
