The bug was discovered 05/08/2018. The weakness was shared 05/08/2018 with Microsoft as confirmed security update guide (Website). The advisory is shared for download at portal.msrc.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-0961 since 12/01/2017. The exploitability is told to be difficult. Access to the local network is required for this attack. A remote code execution vulnerability exists when Windows Hyper-V on a host server fails to properly validate vSMB packet data. An attacker who successfully exploited these vulnerabilities could execute arbitrary code on a target operating system.
