psi/zfile.c in Artifex Ghostscript before 9.21rc1 permits the status command even if -dSAFER is used, which might allow remote attackers to determine the existence and size of arbitrary files, a similar issue to CVE-2016-7977.
The bug was discovered 10/08/2016. The weakness was disclosed 06/01/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at git.ghostscript.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-11645 since 06/01/2018. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 117487 (Debian DLA-1504-1 : ghostscript security update), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 176526 (Debian Security Update for ghostscript (DSA 4336-1)).
Upgrading to version 9.21rc1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published 4 months after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
