A vulnerability was found in Artifex Ghostscript up to 9.22 (Document Processing Software). It has been declared as critical. In Artifex Ghostscript 9.23 before 2018-08-23, attackers able to supply crafted PostScript files could use a type confusion in the LockDistillerParams parameter to crash the interpreter or execute code.
The bug was discovered 08/24/2018. The weakness was shared 08/27/2018 by Tavis Ormandy (Website). The advisory is shared at git.ghostscript.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2018-15910 since 08/27/2018. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
