IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.x before 7.0.0.31, 8.0.x before 8.0.0.8, and 8.5.x before 8.5.5.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource consumption) via a crafted request to a web services endpoint.
The weakness was disclosed 01/14/2014 as Security Bulletin: Potential Security Vulnerabilities fixed in IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.0.0.31 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at www-01.ibm.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with IBM. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-6325 since 10/31/2013. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
