An issue was discovered in Linaro LAVA before 2018.5.post1. Because of support for file: URLs, a user can force lava-server-gunicorn to download any file from the filesystem if it's readable by lavaserver and valid yaml.
The bug was discovered 06/15/2018. The weakness was published 06/19/2018 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at git.linaro.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-12563 since 06/19/2018. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
