An issue was discovered in Linaro LAVA before 2018.5.post1. Because of support for URLs in the submit page, a user can forge an HTTP request that will force lava-server-gunicorn to return any file on the server that is readable by lavaserver and valid yaml.
The bug was discovered 06/15/2018. The weakness was released 06/19/2018 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared for download at git.linaro.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-12564 since 06/19/2018. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. A authentication is needed for exploitation. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be patching the affected component. A possible mitigation has been published 3 days after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
