Security Gateway Virtual Edition (VE) VMWare OVF template contains pre-defined SSH key-pair and WebUI SSL certificate (*.p12). Multiple deployments of Security Gateway Virtual Edition (VE) created from this OVF template will have the same keys.
After immediately, there has been an exploit disclosed. The exploit is available at supportcenter.checkpoint.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept.
It is possible to mitigate the problem by applying the configuration setting Reset Keys. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
