Format string vulnerability in auditselect on IBM AIX 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 allows local users to execute arbitrary code via format string specifiers in a command line argument.
The issue has been introduced in 05/01/2001. The weakness was released 02/09/2005 by iDefense Labs with iDEFENSE Labs (Website). The advisory is available at www-1.ibm.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-0250 since 02/08/2005. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
