A vulnerability was found in FFmpeg 2.1 (Multimedia Processing Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function hls_slice_header of the file libavcodec/hevc.c. The impact remains unknown.
The issue has been introduced in 10/29/2013. The weakness was released 01/21/2014 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind with Google Security Team as hevc: Bound check slice_qp as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared at git.videolan.org. The public release was coordinated with the project team. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
