Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in SEOmatic Plugin up to 3.1.3 on Craft CMS. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the component Template Handler. The manipulation as part of a Request leads to a injection vulnerability (SSTI). The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-74. The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

A Server Side Template Injection (SSTI) was discovered in the SEOmatic plugin before 3.1.4 for Craft CMS, because requests that don't match any elements incorrectly generate the canonicalUrl, and can lead to execution of Twig code.

The bug was discovered 07/23/2018. The weakness was presented 08/06/2018 as EDB-ID 45108 as not defined exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is shared for download at exploit-db.com.
