A Server Side Template Injection (SSTI) was discovered in the SEOmatic plugin before 3.1.4 for Craft CMS, because requests that don't match any elements incorrectly generate the canonicalUrl, and can lead to execution of Twig code.
The bug was discovered 07/23/2018. The weakness was presented 08/06/2018 as EDB-ID 45108 as not defined exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is shared for download at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-14716 since 07/28/2018. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
