A vulnerability was found in Google Chrome up to 63 (Web Browser). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the component Chromecast. Unsafe navigation in Chromecast in Google Chrome prior to 63.0.3239.84 allowed a remote attacker to bypass navigation restrictions via a crafted HTML page.
The bug was discovered 12/06/2017. The weakness was released 08/28/2018 by Natalie Silvanovich with Google Project Zero (Website). The advisory is available at chromereleases.googleblog.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-15430 since 10/17/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
