Details
A vulnerability was found in Wireshark (Packet Analyzer Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown function of the file epan/dissectors/packet-btatt.c of the component Attribute Protocol Dissector. The manipulation as part of a Packet leads to a injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-74. The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:
In Wireshark 2.6.0 to 2.6.2, 2.4.0 to 2.4.8, and 2.2.0 to 2.2.16, the Bluetooth Attribute Protocol dissector could crash. This was addressed in epan/dissectors/packet-btatt.c by verifying that a dissector for a specific UUID exists.
