A vulnerability was found in Citrix ShareFile 2.4 on Android (Connectivity Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the component SSL Certificate Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. correctly. Impacted is integrity. The summary by CVE is:
Citrix ShareFile Mobile and ShareFile Mobile for Tablets before 2.4.4 for Android do not verify X.509 certificates from SSL servers, which allow man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof servers and obtain sensitive information via a crafted certificate.
The weakness was released 02/18/2014 by Alexandru Gherman with FortConsult as CTX140303 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.citrix.com. The public release was coordinated with Citrix. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-1910 since 02/07/2014. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
Upgrading to version 2.4.4 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at play.google.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. The advisory contains the following remark:
