Impacted is integrity.

The weakness was disclosed 02/22/2014 by Benjamin Kunz Mejri with Vulnerability Lab as Barracuda Bug Bounty #36 Firewall as confirmed advisory (Packetstorm). It is possible to read the advisory at packetstormsecurity.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Barracuda. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

A public exploit has been developed by Benjamin Kunz Mejri in HTML/Javascript and been published 3 days after the advisory. The exploit is available at packetstormsecurity.com. It is declared as highly functional. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 142 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k.

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (91502) and SecurityFocus (BID 65695†). The entries VDB-12466 and VDB-12463 are pretty similar. If you want to get the best quality for vulnerability data then you always have to consider VulDB.
