A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 SP3/2013/2016 (Groupware Software). This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component MFC Library Loader. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a untrusted search path vulnerability. The bug was discovered 08/23/2010. The weakness was presented 10/09/2018 as confirmed security update guide (Website). The advisory is shared for download at portal.msrc.microsoft.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-3190 since 08/31/2010. The attack needs to be approached locally. A remote code execution vulnerability exists in the way that certain applications built using Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) handle the loading of DLL files.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 8 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
