A vulnerability was found in Apple iOS 6.0/6.1/7.0.5 (Smartphone Operating System). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component USB Message Handler. The ptmx_get_ioctl function in the ARM kernel in Apple iOS before 7.1 and Apple TV before 6.1 allows local users to gain privileges or cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds memory access and device crash) via a crafted call.
The weakness was disclosed 03/11/2014 as HT6162 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-1278 since 01/08/2014.
