A vulnerability has been found in ASUSTOR ADM 3.1.1 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code of the file group.cgi of the component POST Parameter Handler. OS command injection in group.cgi in ASUSTOR ADM version 3.1.1 allows attackers to execute system commands as root by modifying the "name" POST parameter.
The bug was discovered 10/25/2018. The weakness was presented 12/04/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared at blog.securityevaluators.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2018-12317 since 06/13/2018. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. A single authentication is needed for exploitation.
