A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Wavpack up to 5.1.0. Affected is the function WavpackVerifySingleBlock of the file open_utils.c. The function WavpackVerifySingleBlock in open_utils.c in libwavpack.a in WavPack through 5.1.0 allows attackers to cause a denial-of-service (out-of-bounds read and application crash) via a crafted WavPack Lossless Audio file, as demonstrated by wvunpack.
The bug was discovered 11/29/2018. The weakness was published 12/04/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-19841 since 12/03/2018.
