In phpMyAdmin before 4.8.4, an XSS vulnerability was found in the navigation tree, where an attacker can deliver a payload to a user through a crafted database/table name.
The bug was discovered 12/07/2018. The weakness was published 12/11/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared at phpmyadmin.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-19970 since 12/07/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
