Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in IBM BigFix Platform (Endpoint Management Software). This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component Cookie Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a session fixiation vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-384. Authenticating a user, or otherwise establishing a new user session, without invalidating any existing session identifier gives an attacker the opportunity to steal authenticated sessions. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
IBM BigFix Platform 9.2.0 through 9.2.14 and 9.5 through 9.5.9 does not set the secure attribute on authorization tokens or session cookies. Attackers may be able to get the cookie values by sending a http:// link to a user or by planting this link in a site the user goes to. The cookie will be sent to the insecure link and the attacker can then obtain the cookie value by snooping the traffic. IBM X-Force ID: 140969.
