The IKE implementation in Cisco IOS 15.4(1)T and earlier and IOS XE allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (security-association drop) via crafted Main Mode packets, aka Bug ID CSCun31021.

The weakness was disclosed 04/03/2014 with Cisco as CSCun31021/CSCun31021 as confirmed security notice (Website). The advisory is available at tools.cisco.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-2143 since 02/25/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
