A vulnerability was found in Mesos Plugin up to 0.17.1 on Jenkins (Jenkins Plugin). It has been rated as critical. An improper authorization vulnerability exists in Jenkins Mesos Plugin 0.17.1 and earlier in MesosCloud.java that allows attackers with Overall/Read access to initiate a test connection to an attacker-specified Mesos server with attacker-specified credentials IDs obtained through another method, capturing credentials stored in Jenkins.
The bug was discovered 09/25/2018. The weakness was disclosed 01/09/2019 with CloudBees, Inc. (Website). The advisory is shared for download at jenkins.io. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-1000421 since 01/09/2019. The attack may be launched remotely. A simple authentication is necessary for exploitation.
