It was found in Ceph versions before 13.2.4 that authenticated ceph RGW users can cause a denial of service against OMAPs holding bucket indices.
The bug was discovered 01/15/2019. The weakness was published 01/15/2019 as confirmed bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2018-16846 since 09/11/2018. The attack can be launched remotely. The successful exploitation requires a single authentication.
