Use-after-free vulnerability in the RenderBlock::addChildIgnoringAnonymousColumnBlocks function in core/rendering/RenderBlock.cpp in Blink, as used in Google Chrome before 34.0.1847.116, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via vectors involving addition of a child node.

The weakness was published 04/08/2014 by Christian Holler (Cloudfuzzer) with Google as Stable Channel Update as confirmed release notes (Website). The advisory is available at googlechromereleases.blogspot.dk. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2014-1722 since 01/29/2014. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 73431 (FreeBSD : chromium -- multiple vulnerabilities (963413a5-bf50-11e3-a2d6-00262d5ed8ee)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
