The FTP client for Solaris 2.6, 7, and 8 with the debug (-d) flag enabled displays the user password on the screen during login.
The weakness was presented 02/28/2003 with Sun Microsystems Inc. (Website). The advisory is shared at sunsolve.sun.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2003-1078 since 02/08/2005. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
