Symantec PGP Desktop 10.0.x through 10.2.x and Encryption Desktop Professional 10.3.x before 10.3.2 MP1 do not properly perform memory copies, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (read access violation and application crash) via a malformed certificate.

The weakness was shared 04/23/2014 by Jeremy Brown with Microsoft Vulnerability Research as SYM14-007 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at symantec.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2014-1646 since 01/23/2014. The exploitability is told to be difficult.
