A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in LibRaw up to 0.19.0 (Image Processing Software). This vulnerability affects the function parse_rollei of the file internal/dcraw_common.cpp. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a resource consumption vulnerability. An error within the "parse_rollei()" function (internal/dcraw_common.cpp) within LibRaw versions prior to 0.19.1 can be exploited to trigger an infinite loop.
The bug was discovered 12/13/2018. The weakness was published 02/20/2019 (Website). The advisory is available at lists.debian.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-5818 since 01/19/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
