A vulnerability was found in Tecrail Responsive FileManager 9.13.4 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function save_img of the file ajax_calls.php. The manipulation of the argument path as part of a Image File leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. tecrail Responsive FileManager 9.13.4 allows remote attackers to write to an arbitrary image file (jpg/jpeg/png) via path traversal with the path parameter, through the save_img action in ajax_calls.php.

The bug was discovered 12/12/2018. The weakness was published 02/25/2019 as EDB-ID 45987 as not defined exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is shared for download at exploit-db.com.
