A flaw was found in the way an LDAP search expression could crash the shared LDAP server process of a samba AD DC in samba before version 4.10. An authenticated user, having read permissions on the LDAP server, could use this flaw to cause denial of service.
The bug was discovered 02/26/2019. The weakness was disclosed 03/06/2019 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2019-3824 since 01/03/2019. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The successful exploitation needs a single authentication.
