A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Doorkeeper::OpenidConnect up to 1.4.x/1.5.3. This vulnerability affects an unknown function. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. Doorkeeper::OpenidConnect (aka the OpenID Connect extension for Doorkeeper) 1.4.x and 1.5.x before 1.5.4 has an open redirect via the redirect_uri field in an OAuth authorization request (that results in an error response) with the 'openid' scope and a prompt=none value. This allows phishing attacks against the authorization flow.
The bug was discovered 02/15/2019. The weakness was released 03/21/2019. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-9837 since 03/15/2019. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
