A vulnerability was found in Apple iTunes up to 12.9.3 on Windows (Multimedia Player Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component WebKit. Multiple memory corruption issues were addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in iOS 12.2, tvOS 12.2, watchOS 5.2, Safari 12.1, iTunes 12.9.4 for Windows, iCloud for Windows 7.11. Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution.
The bug was discovered 03/25/2019. The weakness was presented 03/25/2019 with Apple as HT209604 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-8563 since 02/18/2019. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
