The Meeting Server in IBM Sametime 8.x through 8.5.2.1 and 9.x through 9.0.0.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (room unusability) by generating a large number of fictitious users to enter a meeting room.
The weakness was presented 05/21/2014 as swg21671201 / 1671201 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at www-01.ibm.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-3980 since 06/07/2013. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
