A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Internet Explorer up to 11 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The weakness was shared 06/10/2014 by Zhibin Hu, Bo Qu and 0016EECD9D7159A949DAD3BC17E0A939 with Zero Day Initiative as MS14-035 as confirmed bulletin (Technet) via ZDI (Zero Day Initiative). The advisory is available at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2014-1799 since 01/29/2014. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.

A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 13831.
