A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Apple iTunes up to 12.9.4 on Windows (Multimedia Player Software). Affected is an unknown function of the component WebKit. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The bug was discovered 05/13/2019. The weakness was presented 05/28/2019 as HT210124 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2019-8619 since 02/18/2019. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Multiple memory corruption issues were addressed with improved memory handling.

Upgrading to version 12.9.5 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
