Details
A vulnerability was found in Oracle Enterprise Manager for Virtualization 13.1/13.2/13.3 (Software Management Software) and classified as very critical. This issue affects an unknown function of the component jackson-databind. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a deserialization vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-502. The product deserializes untrusted data without sufficiently verifying that the resulting data will be valid. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
FasterXML jackson-databind 2.x before 2.9.8 might allow attackers to have unspecified impact by leveraging failure to block the jboss-common-core class from polymorphic deserialization.
The bug was discovered 11/18/2018. The weakness was released 07/16/2019 as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - Juli 2019 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at oracle.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-19362 since 11/19/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
