The weakness was published 04/19/2005 by Michael Krax and Georgi Guninski (mikx) as MFSA2005-38 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-1156 since 04/18/2005. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1211 for this issue.
