A vulnerability was found in Lucent Ascend Router (Router Operating System) (affected version not known). It has been rated as problematic. Attackers can cause a denial of service in Ascend MAX and Pipeline routers with a malformed packet to the discard port, which is used by the Java Configurator tool.

The weakness was presented 03/16/1998 with Secure Networks Inc.. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-1999-0060. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
